Alternative Leadership

How many years now have we seen the Labour and Conservative political parties slug it out for election? Every time the general election comes around it is a two horse race. Both parties tend to spend more time insulting one another like children in the playground than actually talking about their own policies or what they will change in this country.

One leader has a go at the other one and sentences always seem to start with words like, “Well Labour are going to do this or that, which is a bad idea…” Blah, blah blah. Why can’t we hear what you are going to do? Maybe it is time for a few more horses to join this race.

The current leadership has failed, dramatically, over the last few years. The war in Iraq crippled the last Prime Minister, ensuring that his legacy will forever be associated with it. Labour have struggled to regain the trust of the British public since then with new Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, finding it very hard going.

The Tories have done nothing of note either. They just snap at Labour’s heels, forever bringing up past mistakes and never bringing any solutions to the table. A world with David Cameron as Prime Minister is a world I don’t wish to be a part of. It might fully seal my move from the UK, which is virtually sealed anyway.

Other parties have begun to come to prominence, the Liberal Democrats have been the “third” party for so long now and haven’t really made any inroads to displace Labour or the Conservatives. However, the relatively new party, “UKIP” (United Kingdom Independence Party) have definitely made some noise in the last couple of years.

They placed well in recent local elections and gained a few seats in the European Parliament also. They believe that the UK would be better off without European influence and are currently working, from the inside, to remove the UK from the European Union. I feel this is a good idea. Whilst the EU did have good intentions to begin with, they have lost their way and now we UK citizens find ourselves paying for things we shouldn’t.

They also have tough stances on crime, education and immigration (which is certainly a massive issue in this country). So let’s see if this new party can move forward and tackle the big bullies at the top of the pile. It would be a hugely refreshing change.

Onto a bit of work related news, I have finally finished the changes for the vaser lipo webpage. I really don’t know how I feel about this one, any observations or judgements are encouraged
