Law Struggle

Law struggle is referred to as the process of opposition of political decision-makers and unelected members of the judiciary. Recently, the process of questioning the impartiality of both law Lords and politicians in the Parliament has been given immense importance in the UK after several decisions were summed up and presented to the public in a documentary.
The documentary film by BBC focuses on the life of the Law Lords - the most senior judges in the realm. They discuss the importance of impartiallity and the fundamental distinguishable feature between elected bodies and legal scholars. However, members of the public have been long asked the question of whether measures adopted by the Parliament, such as the protection of the motherland terrorism policies, need to be addressed with such a doze of subjectivity and negativism by the judiciary. The Law Lords struck down legislation allowing wider discretion for Law Lords when deciding on the suspects of terrorism.
The Law Lords, however, are universal experts in the country. they have decided upon various aspects such as the striking down of the best home equity loans and the departure from outdated legal principles in the banking system. They need to keep the state in accordance with the rule of law. As such, their impartiality is vital for the process of justice delivery. The struggle between them and the politicians in the Parliament might worsen in future as several individuals are about to question to actions of the British government under the Blair mandate in terms of attitude towards terrorism and the measures that authorities adopted in the dealings with potential suspects from British or other international origin.
